First thing, I updated the image at the top of the blog so it may take a few moments for it to download. I like making small changes every now and then, but I was in the mood to take my “look” in a different direction. So I worked on this for a little while and I am pleased with my results. Also, my CD’s will also reflect this new look too!
I have also been enjoying my summer break. I have got to spend so much time with my family and I even took some time to capture a few of these moments. Here is my favorite from the start of the summer!
This is so wrong, but so funny 🙂
We also went to a local outdoor mall a few days ago to let Maggie play in the fountain. It is one of those cool fountains that shoot up from the ground that you can run around in.
So today I got this big idea this morning to call my sister-in-law to see if her kiddos were home. I wanted to try out some new equipment I had acquired recently and I needed some willing volunteers so who better than my nieces and nephews! Well, Isaac and Luke were ready for fun, Mary was napping, JT was having some plumbing issues, and Anna was M.I.A. I hadn’t got to spend time with the twins like this in a long while, so I had so much fun with them this morning. We ran around their yard, explored the neighbors barn, played on their playset, and even had a little lesson on photography. As the boys and I were wrapping up, Mary came out to play so I got to capture some long over due pictures of her too! JT, was just having a rough time between napping and diaper changes, so I didn’t get more than just a couple of shots of him in his crib. Here are a few shots of what I was able to capture this morning, and yes, I have a CD all ready for you Brea as reimbursement for putting up with me this morning!
I am a week late with these pictures, but our niece Mary Elizabeth celebrated her first birthday last weekend! With all that was going on over the holiday weekend, I was lucky enough just to get the pictures processed and sent back to Brea on disk.
I digress again…back to the story. Mary was having a bumblebee themed party so there were lots of black and yellow at the party. Brea and J had got Mary a little cake for her to dig into that was covered in yellow icing. Seeing her dig into her cake brought back memories of little Maggie doing this just a few weeks earlier. Mary had a great time with her cake and her party was a huge success. After the presents and cupcakes with ice cream, the kiddos headed out to the back yard to enjoy some slip-n-slide action. They were having so much fun on those things that I sure wanted to try it! I just don’t think that it would have worked out so well so I had to just enjoy them from a distance 🙂
Here are a few pics of the birthday girl showing her digging into her cake. It was so fun to watch!!!
The birthday girl looking sweet as usual…
She had really gotten into her cake by this point and decided to share some with daddy!
Even the cake board was delicious!!
The aftermath of too much icing and a sleepy eye rub 🙂 By this point it was bath time!
It is still baseball season for the twins and we enjoyed another one of their games yesterday evening. They are getting better with every game and it is so exciting to watch them on the field. Both of the boys played great yesterday and I was there ready for action as usual. What is even better is when the whole family gets to turn out to support the boys. We had everyone from great-grandparents down to their sisters at the game to cheer them on! Here are a few great shots from the game. These first two are of Issac.
And lets not forget Luke. Although I think he was ready to go back in to bat some more!
(This was a fun capture of Luke. If you go to see the big picture you can actually see what he is doing.)
Lets not forget some of the biggest fans of the baseball games…
Their little sister Mary…
And little Maggie!
We even took Dexter with us so he could get out of the house. We thought that possibly he could play with the children there and it would wear him out! Sure enough he had about all he could take after about 45 minutes and was ready to go. By the time we got home he was “dog” tired! 😀
