Last weekend was a busy weekend!! We had all sorts of family and friends in our home to celebrate my completion of my Masters Degree! I finally graduated, after starting this journey two years ago, receiving both my Masters Degree in Arts in Education as well as completing the requirements for my teaching licensure. It is so nice to finally be done and now I can also dedicate more time to my family and photography too! My family took some pictures at the graduation, but my favorite came from a photographer from the Lebanon Democrat in Lebanon, TN. Maggie was having a hard time letting me take part in graduation by myself. She just wanted to come see me while I was standing in line so I bent down to console her and to send her back to her seat. At that moment the photographer caught this:
Later that evening my wife hosted a graduation party at our house for me and we had a huge turnout! It was so nice to have all of these individuals in our home who have supported me over the past few years. Thank you again to all of our friends and family that were able to attend!
The next day, little JT had his first birthday party where we all got to gather together again! He is just getting so big and I wanted to post a few pics from his party. He is such the big boy now! Maggie just loves being able to spend so much time with all of her cousins!
Little Josh even did a little showing off for us by taking some steps! Here is starting off in front of his mommy…
…and ending up in his daddy’s arms. (I love this one)
I got to have another session with these sweet brothers. It hadn’t felt like it had been 3 months already, but when their mother called and asked for another session I was happy to oblige. We again ventured over to one of my favorite spots, Moss-Wright Park in Goodlettsville for their shoot. With the cold days we have been having and the limited availability of great natural light in the evenings, it was a miracle that we were able to get these shots. These boys loved being outside and although it was cold and it took a toll on them by the end of the session, we got some cute shots!
Check out how big Sol is getting:
And now for big brother Hudson:
And we always have to get a baseball themed picture for this family, but with the cold weather all of the ball fields were locked up. So, we had to go for the next best thing…a batting cage! It was all we had available, buy by this time they were ready to go home so we had a few tears in the picture.
I first met this little guy when he was only 3 months old and his parents came to me for their first session. I was so excited when they contacted me again to do his one year pictures! We took advantage of a break in the weather and went to Moss-Wright Park for the session, and we were able to capture some wonderful shots. It was amazing to see how much he has grown over the last 9 months and I hope to continue watching him grow. I hope he had a great birthday party this weekend and I especially hope his parents enjoy their preview!
This last one was one of my favorites!
This little guy had quite the first birthday! Family and friends came over to help celebrate and they were all in for a big treat. There was a ton of good food and the kids even got to go outside and play in sprinklers and a little pool. Brady’s mom had asked that I come early to take some one-year portraits and then stay to take pictures during the party. I couldn’t have asked to be around such a nicer group of people as they were so accommodating and welcoming, and in the end I felt like part of the family! To Brady’s mom and dad: I hope cleanup wasn’t too bad, all the balloons finally came down, and I hope you like you preview!!
I can still remember when this little girl was born and she is already a year old! We took advantage of the great weather (before the rain set in) and went to the park. She had so much fun running around and playing on the playground, it was so neat to watch this little girl in action. Here are some great pics from our session!
Meet Paxton…he was born to ROCK! He was such a lively little guy who kept me and his mommy on our toes. We had such a great time with his 12 month shoot and he is such a little character that he is going to be one little ladies man one of these days. I also got to meet Pax’s older brother Parker. He too was ready to cheese it up with his cute smile and big blue eyes. Just check out his long locks!! He too is great little guy with a wonderful personality. These two were so much fun and they just made my job so easy. To Pax’s mom and dad, I hope you love your pictures! You got a couple of handsome little guys on your hands 🙂
“Born to Rock”
This one has to be my favorite of the set!
Big bro, Parker
Oh my goodness…I just had the honor of taking little Jack’s 12 month pictures! It was so neat to see how big he is now and how much more personality he has compared to when his parents first asked me to take his pictures back in March. This is how I remember Jack from back then:
It is so sweet to see how much this little one has grown. Jack’s parents were some of my first clients and every session with them is just wonderful. We always get some great shots of little Jack and from time to time we sneak in some family shots. Well, to my surprise we got a Christmas card from Jack’s family last week and on the card was the family picture I had taken for them back in September! It is so neat to see how the pictures are being used as you never know what customers are doing with them after I drop off the CD. As luck would have it, we had Jack’s 12 month session back at his house again and as I walked around his house for inspiration, I got to see exactly how his parents put their CD to use! I saw pictures of Jack from 3 months of age on up around the house, a picture I had taken of his sister, and a huge family portrait above the fireplace. This was by far the most breathtaking of all the pictures around Jack’s home because Jack’s mommy found the most beautiful frame to put around their family picture.
I am just so moved that his parents have trusted me to be there for his milestones and to capture those moments they would have for a lifetime. I think I have now rambled on enough about my sentiments with this family so on to the good stuff that you all are waiting for. Here are some of the great pictures we got of Jack this past weekend! My how he has grown just from March!
Alie, my wife, thinks I am crazy but I love this last picture. It reminds me of our daughter and how she would look up at us like this. There is just something precious about moments like this one! Although we as parents look forward to our children learning how to feed themselves and to become more independent so our lives are easier, we will always remember moments like this. Being able to look them right in the eyes and to see nothing but innocence and purity…it connects you at a level only a loving parent would know.
