What a joy it has been being able to watch little Jack grow this year! It seems just like yesterday that his parents asked me to do his 3 month portraits and now he is 9 months old!! My goodness where has the time gone?! Once again I traveled to Jack’s house to take his pictures. It was so nice to see his parents again and little McKinley who got to be my “assistant.”
I had been waiting for Jack to start sitting up as it would really open up a lot of opportunities for pictures and my wish finally came true for this session. We had such a great time despite it being a little overcast, but we took advantage of the day and had the majority of the shoot outside! The weather was great, the company was great, and I think the pictures turned out great!! To Kim and Chris, I hope you like your preview 🙂
There were so many that I really enjoyed, but the last one just speaks to me some how. The innocent look along with a little hint of a smile and the natural glow as well as his eyes just draws me in. I will have to admit that this is one of my most favorites.
In addition to all of the pictures of Jack, I was also able to squeeze in some family pictures. I will generally try to take some family pics upon request, but I generally keep those for the family to see when I deliver the disk. These were so much fun and turned out so well that I just couldn’t keep these hidden! Here is a preview of one of the family shots:
I am a week late with these pictures, but our niece Mary Elizabeth celebrated her first birthday last weekend! With all that was going on over the holiday weekend, I was lucky enough just to get the pictures processed and sent back to Brea on disk.
I digress again…back to the story. Mary was having a bumblebee themed party so there were lots of black and yellow at the party. Brea and J had got Mary a little cake for her to dig into that was covered in yellow icing. Seeing her dig into her cake brought back memories of little Maggie doing this just a few weeks earlier. Mary had a great time with her cake and her party was a huge success. After the presents and cupcakes with ice cream, the kiddos headed out to the back yard to enjoy some slip-n-slide action. They were having so much fun on those things that I sure wanted to try it! I just don’t think that it would have worked out so well so I had to just enjoy them from a distance 🙂
Here are a few pics of the birthday girl showing her digging into her cake. It was so fun to watch!!!
The birthday girl looking sweet as usual…
She had really gotten into her cake by this point and decided to share some with daddy!
Even the cake board was delicious!!
The aftermath of too much icing and a sleepy eye rub 🙂 By this point it was bath time!
Back when my wife, Alie, was pregnant we debated over many names. One of them she had picked for a boy was Hudson. I liked it, but it just wasn’t the name for me. Eventually we found out that we were having a girl and we had a nice short list of names with Maggie at the top! Well, I get a message on Friday asking if I could take a couple’s three month old pictures for their son…Hudson! Come to find out that the woman who contacted me had worked with Alie at one of her old schools. In fact, Alie had made a onesie for one of Hudson’s baby showers as a gift from another one of the teachers.
Anyway, Hudson’s parents were so much fun to have in our home today. That’s right…we had a photo shoot today. The weekend was pretty much open due to the holiday today so when Hudson’s mom contacted me, I suggested that we do it today!! I mean after all, who wants to spend the whole day grading papers like I was planning on doing. Well, we spent just over a couple of hours taking Hudson’s three month pictures and they turned out great. Alie gave me a hand grading papers for all of my classes and that allowed me the time I needed to process the pictures. I am so excited to get these done today as it usually takes me a lot longer on the turnaround time, but with my new job and having the day off today it seems that I was able to whip these out!
This is just a preview, but they all turned out so well. To Marcie and Nick, you all were great and Hudson was just so great to work with. I hope you like your preview!!!
This is one of my many favorites. I call it “SSShhhhh.”
The ever popular scale picture. This time with a twist…we included his favorite toy the owl.
I am digging little dude’s shirt!!
For these last two we decided to go outside. Luckily I hadn’t mowed so I had the long shaggy grass that really adds to the picture. We were also battling the sun overhead, but I think we won the fight!
