Franklin Main Street Festival!!

This weekend is the Franklin Main Street Festival down in historic Franklin, TN. Alie and I have never been and she got got an invite from Freshie and Zero to come down to the Mama Made Spring Market to check things out. (We love Freshie…she is awesome to work with and makes great jewlery! I picked up a pair of earrings from her for Alie for Valentine’s Day this year and Alie even picked up another pair later since she liked them so much.) Anyway, let’s get back on track…

It was a street festival and our little family got to go out and have some fun!! Little Maggie had such a good time with all the sights and sounds. We got to meet up with Alie’s friend Molly and my buddy Josh was suppose to meet us there too. (He didn’t make it there, so we swung past his house to visit with him for a while). Geeze…off track again…so we are at the festival walking around seeing everything, doing a little shopping, and just enjoying a gorgeous day. We got to spend some good quality time with Molly and even take some pictures…because I try to never leave the house without my camera!

Here are some shots of Alie, Maggie, and Molly from today:

These were cute in black and white, but the color versions are in my Flickr…

Like I said previously, my buddy Josh was suppose to come meet us…but we got to go to his house instead to visit him. He hadn’t got to see Maggie since she was about a month old, so I think she surprised him on how big she had gotten. I think Alie managed to capture this one of “Uncle” Josh and Maggie, but with us both taking pics we don’t remember who did!

One of the buddies…

It was such a good day and we all had so much fun we didn’t want it to end!

I almost forgot to post this great picture of my beautiful wife. I got so excited posting all the others, that I had to come back and add this one:
Beautiful isn’t she…

Guess who’s 9 months old?!?!

My one and only Maggie is turning 9 months old this week and I wanted to get a jump on her pictures. I couldn’t resist wanting to take them today as it was so pretty outside and the beautiful sunlight was just filling the house. We had to take a few breaks for feedings and play time so she wouldn’t get too upset, but overall she was just wonderful all day for us. I am so happy that the weather was nice so it allowed me to venture outside to get some shots using my chairs* that have been patiently waiting for the past month to become a key part of my pictures. I hope you all enjoy and I will start off with Alie’s favorite:

And we had some great black and white conversions too!!

I really love this next one. I was using the blinds as a diffuser for the light and there were a few spaces/cracks that allowed bands of light to show through resulting in the bright light head band on her in this picture. I know it shouldn’t be there, but I just love this picture.

Maggie giving us her pouty lip 😀

With little Maggie crawling all over the place now, I really wanted to get some crawling shots to show this milestone for her. She was soooo much fun today and it was also nice to have Juju (Maggie’s grandmother) come down to join us for the shoot. I ended up putting her to work holding a reflector for me so Alison could keep up with Maggie, but just having Juju here was a great help to all of us.

Happy 9 months Maggie – Mommy and Daddy (and Dexter too) Love You!!!

*I actually used the red parlor chair in Jack’s pictures, but it hasn’t been displayed and used as a focal point like this. Besides the parlor chair, the black chair and one more bonus chair (yet to be used yet) were some of my other cool finds when I went on a prop hunt a month ago.

Happy Birthday Sophie!

Today is the first birthday of my niece Sophie. She is a wonderful little girl that we got to spend lots of time with this weekend. Alie and I packed up Maggie and Dexter really early Saturday morning and headed to Indiana to visit with my family. It is always great going home to see my parents as well as my brother and his family. Unfortunately we don’t always get to see Justin, my brother, and his family on a regular basis and with our little girls being only about 3.5 months apart we are trying to visit with each other as often as possible so they can grow up knowing each other (although we are still about 200 miles apart).

Anyway…this weekend was the first birthday party for little Sophie and this was also little Maggie’s first sleep over with her cousin 🙂 We spent the weekend at Justin and Lori’s house so we could let the girls play. We hadn’t seen them since December and my how Sophie has grown. She is starting to walk now and it was so neat to see her stepping around their house. Sophie is especially fond of walking to her daddy and I just can’t wait for little Maggie to start doing the same as it is such a sweet moment. Well, while we were up there, I took my camera to get some pictures of the birthday girl as well as a few of the fam!

(check out those big blue eyes on the birthday girl!!)

And lets not forget some shots of her parents!!
Daddy, Justin, who was enjoying watcher her open presents.

Mommy, Lori, who was exceptionally hard to get a pcture of since she was running around making sure everything was ready to go for the party! Just look at the great butterfly cake she made 🙂

Lets not forget my parents either. They managed to spend some good quality time with thier granddaughters this weekend.
Poppie Jerry, who is a little sun-kissed from Saturday!

Grammy Pammy, who I had to trick into getting her picture!

Even little Maggie will make an apperance (with mommy in the background)

I know this is turning into a long post, so I won’t post the black and white versions of these pictures, but they are just as precious as the color ones! Last but not least is one of my favorites. Justin was outside trying to do some quick mowing the day before the party, and sweet Sophie was keeping an eye on him while she played with her puzzles. I managed to capture this precious moment when she was looking for daddy! (This one is in black and white, with the color in my Flickr)

It was a wonderful weekend and we sure appreciated Justin and Lori sharing their home with us while we were there. Thanks again and I hope you all like the pictures!
